Friedrich Joachim Stengel, the court architect of Nassau-Saarbrücken, shaped the city’s distinctive Baroque appearance in the 18th century. With his buildings, he left a lasting artistic mark on the cityscape. Follow in Stengel’s footsteps, visit the church Ludwigskirche and discover the three most beautiful places in Saarbrücken - Schlossplatz, Ludwigsplatz and St. Johanner Markt - the key landmarks of Stengel’s urban design.
