Sulzbach

The name Sulzbach refers to the former salt works located there and the Salt Well Ensemble in the town center bears witness to this.

The town's real upturn, however, began in the mid-19th century when the mines Mellin and Altenwald were connected to the railway network.

Sulzbach is surrounded by the greenery of the Saarkohlenwald forest. The recreational areas of the Ruhbachtal Valley and the Brennender Berg (Burning Mountain) provide an ideal setting for leisurely hikes and walks.
