Püttlingen

Up until the mid-1960s, Püttlingen was dominated by the mining industry. Today it is an attractive and architecturally intriguing residential town with a recently redesigned town center.

From the neo-baroque town hall it is only a few steps to the witches' tower and "Püttlingen castle" – focal point of a lovely park.

From the top of the former Viktoria mine slag heap you have a wonderful panoramic view of the region all the way to France. An idyllic footpath and cycling lane lead along the Köllerbach stream. St. Martin's Parish Church in Köllerbach is one of the oldest sacred buildings in Saarland. Near the ruins of Bucherbach castle you will find the Saarland Clock Museum, which exhibits unique collectors' items from all over Europe in the Clockmaker's House.
